Light Sensitivity

Yes, light sensitivity occaisionally is a problem for me, like Gareth I've found that if I make sure I drink a lot (proper water not the other kind :) ) I find it's happening less. But occasionally there's nothing that stops it or touches the pain - only tried over the counter pain killers though .....

Who, Dwarf, and Wars

I suppose that since I've been to Dr Who conventions, Star Wars marathons (film and video/dvd) and Red Dwarf used to be filmed up here and so sought out the actors in various guises (Rob Llewelyn/Kryton is an excellent author and commedian) that makes me an addict, oh and the hubby's a trekky who sp...

Homeopathy

There was a chap at the 2005 Conference that was extoling the virtues of Reflexology. Any chance of that conference DVD being available soon? Didn't think about homeopathy as an alternative and I would be interested in anything to help dry eye's, and allergic conditions. So that's two of us. Any one...

Allergies to Preservatives

Hello BuzyLizzy, I too am allergic to teh preservative, and as well as preservative free saline, I use Celluvisc eyedrops and Refresh Contacts (similar but a lot runnier), they are made by Allergan, and you can buy them from Boots, but my GP prescribes them, I follow Ken Pullams advice (via another ...

Cards What a good idea

Though personnally I've sat in so many 'eye related' waiting rooms but never come across anybody with KC, at the Royl Manc Eye Hosp (which I affectionately term "th'eye pokers"), I often get an urge to shout to the throng waiting, but my natural shyness  takes over, or the only time ...

Just piucking up old posts I'd missed

Working in the Public Sector..... I have had to fight almost tooth and nail to get the 'reasonable adjustments' through Access to Work, the RNIB (who were great), it took 15 months and eleven days from noticing that my ancient screen was wonky (course I hadn't as I can't see it that well) to getting...

Model of the Eye

Right now I've gone public with my (three o clock in the morning when I couldn't sleep) idea of making a huge model of the eye. I was thinking about a blow up one, this started with a hairdryer (one of those that are a hood) with the optic nerve being the thing that connects with the drier to the ho...

Pollen allergy n eye rubbin

I suffer from pollen allergy, rub my eyes. The times when I've progressed more have been when I've been actively stopping myself from rubbing my eye's now I don't bother stopping myself. Time of year is irrelevant, when I came out this morn, there was snow on the ground and my eyes are itchy, and in...
