Update

Hello there, I haven't posted on this site for a long time because I've been so busy with studies and hospital placements. I was diagnosed with Keratoconus in my right eye in 1999 at the age of 24 (vision 6/24 unaided and hard contact lens for that eye which I can wear for 6 hours a day) and things ...

***Beware of Ebay hackers***

Hello there, Today someone hacked my Ebay account. I have had notification that a hacker has accessed a number of accounts and now has their passwords and postal addresses, and is attempting to use the accounts. He used my name as a seller of a Samsung Plasma TV screen, for which I received a spoof ...

Re: Sudden irritation. To see GP?

GP must have hit the nail on the head, as the antibiotic drops are working like a dream.

Re: Sudden irritation. To see GP?

Thanks for your input. The irritation of the eye itself and the pain in the middle has gone since using Minims and sodium cromoglycate, but it hurts too much to close the eye. I kept my GP appointment in the first instance and he said the eyelid is swollen and I most likely have blepharitis. He has ...

Sudden irritation. To see GP?

Hi there, Out of the blue, I woke up this morning with a very irritated right eye. It's too uncomfortable to concentrate on anything much, and I'm finding it difficult to keep the eye open. The only thing is that it's worse when that eye is closed!!! I haven't been wearing a lens in that eye recentl...

Update: KC/eczema and now seen at Gartnavel

Hello there, Several months ago I posted about the extreme situation I was in regarding due to a combination of severe eczema and eye disease, with an inability to wear my lens for KC (and struggling with 6/24 vision in right eye as a teacher, translator and part-time student). I developed a severe,...

Re: KC with eczema: hospital referral help needed

Hi Anne, It's heartening to know that your eczema was a priority for treatment by your ophthalmologist. I will say that a few years back, the eye specialist took one look at me and actually took me down to derm to be looked at and taken care of. The only thing was that at that time it was not as sev...

Re: KC with eczema: hospital referral help needed

Thank you for your help. I contacted my ophthalmologist and he has referred me to Gartnavel to Dr Ramaesh, as Andrew suggested. It will cut my journey time in half and hopefully I can also be seen in the same hospital in their dermatology department, too. I'm awaiting a letter with a first appointme...

KC with eczema: hospital referral help needed

Hello Peeps, I haven't been on the site for a while: life is taking me in a new direction and I'm busy doing additional (re-)training as an allergy and nutritional therapist. All in good time... I need to ask your advice on how to approach the situation with a consultant. For 7 years I've been seen ...

Petition: UK government enforcing vaccination on schoolkids

As parents and carers of children, you may already be well aware of the problems with vaccinations, since they can exacerbate or bring on a variety of debilitating conditions in some vulnerable individuals. When it comes to having your child vaccinated, parents should have the right to choose if and...
