My son has recently had KC diagnosed in left eye only at the moment and he received his RGP contact lens last week. The Consultant and the Optom both said that they didn't think he would be able to get used to wearing it but he has astounded me and I think they will be surprised also. He has been we...

Hi Sweet Glad things are not too bad for you at the moment and that your vision gets better soon. Couldn't agree more about not relying just on his good eye. Although I don't have KC I have relied on a good eye since childhood (have really bad astigmatism in right eye) and this is probably why I too...

Hi Ali The consultant said that he had Allergic Dry Eye Disease and that it would take a coupel of months of persistent use of the Alomide drops for things to get a bit better. As far as wearing the lens, I think that he will try and persevere as when the optician tried a lens in his eye he realised...

Gareth and Jayuk Thanks for your replies and words of comfort. The Consultant has prescribed Alomide for his dry eyes - not sure what the difference is between them and Systane, the problem is actually getting him to remember to put them in. Think it is going to have to be me having to constantly on...

Hi Jayuk - yes he does have KC in his left eye but at the moment they say he has 20/20 vision in his right eye. As far as the dry eyes goes, the consultant said yesterday that until he gets this condition under control he doubted whether he would be able to wear contact lens at all. Gareth - all the...

HOSPITAL VISIT
Son went for check up at hospital yesterday and it was a fiasco. Firstly told by nurse that they had lost his notes - even though he had been to see contact lens optician on 8 September. Went in to see doctor who didn't seem to know anything about the condition. She said that without the notes there...
