Arc Welding after a corneal graft
Has anyone ever asked / been told if there are restrictions on using an electric arc welder after a graft? (now 3 years on). Odd question I know but I've come up with a blank on Google. I have face mask etc but I don't want to take any chances! It -should- be OK I think and I want to build some new ...

Free Lens Cleaner
I have 7 brand new unopened bottles of this: http://eyediologyopticians.co.uk/products/EYEYE-Crystal-Cleaner-40ml%252d-Miraflow-Replacment.html I found it was head and shoulders the best cleaner for RGP and for scleral lenses too - Since buying 10 (to get a discount!) they moved me on to soft lenses...

Re: Post Graft exercise
Well I might be able to answer my own question here now! Just back from the eye casualty unit where they diagnosed a "subconjunctival hemorrhage" in my grafted eye. If you Google that you'll see what it looks like. All was fine yesterday but then suddenly a big bright red spot on my sclera...

My wonderful SmartPhone
More on my post a couple of days ago. Thanks for the advice! I’m looking to buy one of these small indoor bicycle indoor roller devices that you can just put your bike on and pedal for a while. At least there won't be any hills! I was thinking about what I’ve been doing for the last 4 months or so a...

Post Graft exercise
I'm now 4 months on from my (first) full thickness graft. All healthy so far and apart from some discomfort and the odd day when I need to pop a paracetamol, all going ok. Vision is still relatively poor but I'm told you've just got to be a patient patient. I've been doing exactly what I've been tol...

BBC Radio Interview
I've been "officially" waiting for a corneal graft since December 2013 and hope to get it sorted this side of December 2014. Very frustrating as I can now only wear lenses for a few hours or sometimes just a few minutes at a time. And often (as right now) just one lens at a time. But when ...

Re: Sclerals and bubbles
Thanks for the reply. I came across this - it's got some good tips: http://youtu.be/P0xO9bZsTnU - I'm still struggling with getting the insertion bubble-free - I suppose perseverance as ever is the key! This too: http://artoptical.com/files/documents/resources/Scleral_Lens_Care_RCCL.pdf - it mention...

Sclerals and bubbles
Hello - still on my long and windy contact lens path - I've tried I think every size, shape and design of contact lens known to science. I tried (hard) and failed with full-size sclerals, now having another go with some sort of snazzy, smaller ones with a soft skirt. Vision results are excellent, ne...

Graft(s) - decision time?
Hello - I've been wearing lenses for maybe 25 years (I'm 51). KC has got progressively worse and worse, and my tolerance to lenses seems to have come to the end of the line. I've tried (I believe) every lens design known to science. RGPs, piggy backing, sclerals (lots of sizes / shapes / minis/ soft...
