You should not have a problem driving as you still have the one good eye. You are making the correct decision, the KC does not improve and will possibly become unmanageable - mine was in both eyes. I would say you are going to be restricted exercise wise for at least the first month, then you can bu...

Steve, Nothing to worry about at all. I had full grafts in both eyes done in the 90s. They were removed in ones and twos at first, they after several months half went. There is no pain, just a slight tickling sensation. It just made me marvel at the skill of the surgeon and what a fantastic skill it...

Lynn, I was officially diagnosed with KC in the mid-70s, wore (struggled) with the large hard lenses for years, until having grafts in 92&95. I have had no problems with the grafts. I was very curious when it was diagnosed as to why I had got this condition. No family history etc. It was suggest...

Sweet, From what I can gather, your vision has suddenly become 'cloudy' and the lens is of no use? You have mentioned that hospital think its because of fluid in the eye? Exactly the same thing happened to me when I had my KC, which was fairly advanced, I had scarring on both eyes, and the cornea sh...

Peter,
Why did you grafts need redoing? What sort of signs occured that made this necessary? You also mention that your op in 2000 was moderately succesful - I take it this is still functioning.

Tom, I seemed to recall that I sometimes encountered this when I had my KC. It wasn't that noticeable, and I recall that if I stared at a streetlight (for example), and my KC was fairly severe, the light itself would be very 'flared', I could also get the movement in time with the heartbeat. Nothing...

You eye will still be swollen, hey its only five days! As it heals over the next few weeks you will get slight sensation, not painful, which feels like a slight itching. This will be the eye healing and the sutures tightening. I had this on both mine when I had it done. The redness should go down ov...

Drew,
If your KC is that advanced/serious have you not been put forward for surgery, i.e. corneal grafts? See my other post about my background I posted yesterday.

I had KC and received grafts years ago

Hello, I came across this site whilst searching for something on a related subject. I had kerataconus (diagnosed at about 16) in both eyes. I needed the large hard contact lenses to correct the problem , but the condition gradualy worsened as the corneas shape became more distorted, which meant a re...
