Re: Hereditary

Thank you for all your replies. At least my grandson has a good optician, who will monitor his eyes. He already has to have glasses so he will be regularly checked.

Good Luck Claire for your baby and I hope everything turns out fine.

Hereditary

Hi, not been on the forum for a while. My son had his corneal transplant back in July and is doing great so far. He travels once a month to London to have his eye checked. He still has his stitches in and is on about 4 different drops a day but he says his sight in that eye is improving all the time...

Re: Son having op

Up to now Simon is continuing to do ok. He says his eye feels like he has grit in it and he does get some pain, but the doctor says he is doing ok up to now. He is seeing his normal consultant today at our local hospital. This consultant wanted to see Simon when the op was done. He thought he was go...

Re: Son having op

Simon is doing much better now. I have just come back from holiday and he seems much better now. He had to go back to East Grinstead last Tuesday for a check up after his op and the doctor said "let me check your contact lens" Simon said what contact lens? Apparently he should have had one...

Re: Son having op

Thanks for your replies. Simon had to stay in overnight before his op. He was also the last person down for the op and it was 4 pm in the afternoon before he eventually went. My husband and I then went to the hotel to wait until he came back to the ward. He came back at 8pm. We were told then he wou...

Son having op

Not been on for a while. However, my son is having his corneal transplant tomorrow at the Queen Victoria hospital, East Grinstead. He has been waiting for 6 months for this op but got a phone call yesterday to say someone cancelled and he could have it done. My son has gone down today ( we live in C...

Re: Son with Keratocounus

Thanks everyone for your replies. My son is on holiday at the moment, but I will show him the messages when he comes home. I also notice the AGM and I think he might like to go to that, but I will have to check with him first as he works shifts. Crackerjack, We have been following your blog. It has ...

Son with Keratocounus

Hi all, Not posted for a while but have been reading other posts. Don't know if anyone remembers, but my son and I went to East Grinstead Hospital to see the top eye person there about a corneal graft? Anyway, when he was seen by the consultant it was agreed that he should have the graft because my ...

Re: Son at Hospital

Thank you everyone for your replies. Good Luck Lucy on your op on the 8th Jan. My son has a letter to say he is on the short notice list, so that could mean anytime. My son is a HGV mechanic so I guess he won't be going back to work too soon. He would prefer a general anesthetic and not a local. Cou...
