To do it or not to do it....?

Hi there everyone, My KC was diagnosed a year and a half ago, with my right eye significantly more advanced. This June I had it crosslinked and my 6 month examination shows that the condition is now stable and vision has improved SIGNIFICANTLY, to my surprise. My left eye is far less advanced. The t...

Re: Taken the plunge...

hi Lizb. First of all, you really should not worry about the procedure, as it is not as bad as you think (I was quite worried beforehand too but turned out to be OK) 1. There is no pain during the procedure as the doctor puts anesthetic eye drops in the beginning and every now and then during the pr...

Re: KC and morning workouts.

Andrew, you're absolutely right about living one's life. I guess the debate we're trying to resolve concerns people who do weightlifting everyday, and whether it actually does deteriorate their KC. It is absolutely normal for people to live their lives and ignore the small things that could possible...

Re: KC and morning workouts.

Here's one article on the same topic: http://www.science.unsw.edu.au/news/eye-spikes/ Really shocked to find out as I do heavy weightlifting at home for months now, and am finally seeing the results and now have to reconsider it. Still wonder though, why most doctors (even mine) say that weightlifti...

Re: KC and morning workouts.

Oh sorry about the confusion. I was discussing weightlifting and IOP in patients with no graft procedure, just Keratoconus.

Re: KC and morning workouts.

Hi everyone. Just read this topic and found it extremely interesting, as it affects many people. First of all, from what I read here, there is some debate between people arguing that weightlifting and exercising and the respective increase in IOP can further quicken the thinning of the cornea in KC ...

Re: Cross Linking - Just another experience

Well, the doctor in Bulgaria did do the checks after the procedure and said that my vision is around 70%, while it has been around 30% in my last exam with her, which was a few months before the procedure. I was really shocked to hear that, given that CCL usually does not improve vision but halts ke...

Re: Cross Linking - Just another experience

Shocked and horrified. Just as I explained in my initial post in the topic, a month after my Crosslinking procedure, my doctor in the best private eye-clinic in Bulgaria, told me that things look excellent, my cornea is healing well and I have even regained some of my vision which was quite poor (ri...

Re: Cross Linking - Just another experience

Hi everyone. I went to the clinic I had the CCL procedure in June last week to hear some good news. Apparently, 1 month post-op, the vision in my right eye is almost 100 % (with correction - glasses). Before, i Had 30% with no correction and 50% with correction. Things seem to be going quite well. I...

Cross Linking - Just another experience

I had my Cross linking procedure last Tuesday and decided to share my experience with people who are considering the intervention, so as to prepare them for what to expect. I am a 24 year old male, with a moderate Keratoconus in my right eye - the one that was treated. I had the procedure in a priva...
