Hi Pat

If your home PC has a CRT monitor (i.e. not a flat screen) you can check the "refresh rate." if its 60Hz, then that could be what's causing the "flickering" you describe. Changing that to 75Hz or more will get rid of the flickering which should help.

RGP Lens Questions

Hello All I haven't posted for a while as I've been getting on OK, my mild KC only has minimal impact on my life at the moment. Since diagnosis nearly 2 years ago I've been struggling with RGP lenses. First I had Rose-Ks - they were pretty useless as they wouldn't stay in place, were quite painful a...

Couldn't agree more.

It isn't nice having those sort of worries hanging over you, I know from experience.

All the best, Sweet Claire

Sweet, Brigid is absolutely spot on; there are loads of possible causes for the symptoms you're having, and some sort of spinal damage seems more likely given your unfortunate brush with socks, stairs and gravity! I myself developed similar pins & needles, numbness and weakness in my arms and le...

Hello Adrian, your variety of KC sounds very similar to mine. My cones are low down, the left one heading to the LH side too. However they are not so much cones as bulges, as they cover a very wide area, almost the entire width of the cornea. I tried RoseK lenses first - they were useless. They simp...

Funnily enough I have a hazy recollection of something like this being featured on Tomorrow's World about ten years ago. The test patient was asian if I remember correctly.

Are we to assume it's still very experimental or has it gone a bit more mainstream?

I've been struggling with a pair of recently-acquired RGP lenses, not with getting them in but actually seeing out of them (but that's another story). Hang in there... Going to hospital appointments alone, getting a KC diagnosis and having no-one to talk it through with, wondering what this means for the future, and facing it alone - I've been there, done that. It's not pleasant I know, you have my sympathies. No need to be alone any longer though...
