Re: BBC3 Mon 1st and 8th September

I've just watched this program, I found it very moving. I had a transplant 2 years ago and it has changed my life completely. I am so grateful that someone was kind enough to donate their cornea and also to their family for supporting their decision. I always think about my donor on the anniversary ...

Re: Honest Opinions Please

I was 12 when I was diagnosed and it has been a long and turbulent path. The care and treatment options have changed so much I the 26 years since then. I find it reassuring that there are options such as cxl to try to stop or slow the progression of the disease. There is no miracle cure and it is im...

Blood Donation

Just a quick question, I have heard rumours that you can't give blood after receiving a cornea transplant. Does anyone know if this is true, I've researched on the internet and there isn't much information. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thank you

Re: Do you see multiple moons?

I also see multiple moons! Before I had my graft I counted over 40 (now down to about 10 post graft!!). In my good eye I can see between 30 and 40. I suppose it makes us special

I wish Charlotte all the best, it must be a very confusing time for her and a very difficult time for you. I hope that all goes well for you all!

Re: There is hope after all!!

Just a quick update on the graft recovery. I have had the first 2 stitches taken out today (8 months post graft). There was a severe astigmatism on the topography results so the have taken a couple of stitches out to try to improve the vision. It feels a bit sore now but my close-up vision has impro...

Re: There is hope after all!!

Hello Just a quick update on how things are going! My graft is healing very well and the consultant is very pleased with the progress so far. Work has been a different matter unfortunately  . I have been suffering a lot with eyestrain due to incresing workloads and very little active support. ...
