Re: Glasses-RGP combo?

I have tried this with a lens in my left eye (giving me good vision) and glasses for my right eye, which has been grafted and can't tolerate a lens. My overall vision was improved, but the prescription required by my right eye was such that it made me feel quite sick and I couldn't cope with it whil...

Re: Graft

Yes that is discharge after a GA. All still going well although the cornea is very swollen so I can't see much yet. Still, very early days. I was very nervous as well, not really about the op Itself more about the recovery and eventual outcome. I can't really remember how things progressed 15 years ...

Re: Graft

I had my graft redone last week (first graft was done 15 years ago).

I was In at 7:30, OP at 9:00, awake at 12:00 and discharged at 1:30! All going well so far. Been back to see the Consultant today who is happy with progress.

Good luck with your graft. X

Re: Looking for advice

I would seriously consider finding another consultant. You need trust the advice that your consultant is giving you and be able to discuss the pros and cons of having a graft.

Re: why does a corneal graft take so long to heal?

Because the cornea has little or no blood supply so healing takes a long time.

Implanted lens

I am 39 and have KC in both eyes. I wear a SoClear lens in my left eye which gives me good vision. I had a corneal graft to my right eye 12 years ago which has left me with very poor vision in this eye and I am unable to tolerate any sort of lens in this eye (despite a fantastic contact lens departm...

Re: Cross-linking clinical trial

1. If you were eligible for this trial, would you be keen to participate? N/A 2. If you weren’t eligible (e.g. KC too advanced, rigid contact lens wearer or you’ve had a corneal graft), would you have been likely to participate if you could wind the clock back? Yes. As people have said it is easier ...

Re: SoClear new lenses- excited!!!

I've had my replacement So2Clear for four days now and so far it feels great! As soon as I put it in it felt good, and I managed to keep it in for four hours (felt like I could have kept it in longer but I have been advised to start with 4 hours wear and build up by an hour a day). I've had it in fo...
