Re: Glasses post grafting.
Hi That they are offering you glasses is a good sign. I was told to try to stay away from lenses on my grafted eye if possible. Having stitches out is a tough one. I had it done in the chair with local anaesthetic drops and it wasn't painful but was very uncomfortable and took a lot of patience and ...

Re: Planning for surgery
HI jessie, lots of good advice there. i also think you should try to temporarily pass over as many household responsibilities as possible. The anesthetic made me very drowsy and i was light sensitive so i really just wanted to be in a dark bedroom. the problem was boredom! i suggest setting up a rad...

In south africa I was told the wait could be 2 years. I ended up paying for donor tissue to be flown out from USA (apparently they send their excess to the third world countries). The wait for this was 3 weeks and after some motivation my Medical insurance paid the extra over of about R10000 (about ...

Re: Piggybacking - general frustration
hi Karmen, i am one of those for whom piggy backing really has worked well. i struggled with RGPs, comfort, scratches and lenses popping out, until i started on piggyback and haven't looked back. however my eyes were already 'accustomed' to RGPs and the RGp had good fits, so the soft lens mostly hel...
