Re: Heated eye mask?

Hi Cameron, I've been using a wheat heat/cool pack for a few years, first thing for about 10 minutes, it really wakes me up and gets my eyes moving. I have KC and had surgery last October, my consultant said it is fine to use the pack, so if it works for you, it should be ok, it sounds like yours is...

My left cornea is very ectatic and I am now on the semi urgent list for a regraft, consultant said at my last appointment that it is as bad as it can get...I am persevering with a scleral lens whilst my right eye continues to recover from a regraft, w...

Re: Spare / used scleral lens

I have loads of spares but they are bespoke, so made for me, I agree with other comments on here, used lenses could cause major damage to the corneas, please do not use any that haven't been made for you. You will be shown how to handle them, and if you struggle, tell your ophthalmologist.

Saline or gel for sclerals?

Hi, I've just had right regraft, and, so far, it is going well, a bit sore but that's normal, I think. I have a scleral lens in the left eye, which is awaiting a regraft, but I am getting air bubbles in it again (this had stopped but I think the shape of the eye and cornea are such that bubbles are ...

Re: Ectatic cornea

Hi Anne, Thanks for your reply, and encouraging words. At the moment, any improvement in vision would be a help! I think I have a very good surgeon, had the pre op assessment today and I'm sure he'll do his best, they can't really say everything will be fine, and there will be 20/20 vision, just in ...

Ectatic cornea

I'm having right corneal regraft soon, but the surgeon has said that the surgery will be challenging, with a guarded prognosis, because of the extent of ectasia, which I believe means thinning of the cornea. I also have quite pronounced astigmatism. I've read that an otherwise clear graft might not ...

Re: Graft rejection after 44 years

Hi Anne, thank you for the message, that may explain the tiredness, brain strain! On the positive side, I now have the requisite priority, so may get the regraft in the next 2 or 3 months, specialist was very helpful and encouraging, and seems to have started things moving because I received a pre s...
