I'm horribly lazy about using eyedrops but Liquifilm Tears are good when I bother. Having friends who are aware of your condition and who shout at you if you so much as touch your eyes works a treat too!

It's a great feeling being able to drive again. I hardly ever do but it's nice just to be able to. I've been told I'll never be safe to drive at night again but it's better than nothing. Congratulations. My eyes seem to be getting more tolerant to bright light although I think my new glasses have a ...

Good luck Piper.

I couldn't bear the thought of trying lenses because of the constant itching in my eyes but I've been lucky enough to have great vision with glasses instead.

Gareth, I couldn't agree more. My ex husband used to come to all of my appointments and it was a great help having 2 sets of ears take in the information.

I also found it useful to take a list of questions with me as it's all to easy to forget when you actually get in there.

I was getting all enthusiastic as I read down until I got to the date. I'll be at my niece's christening, otherwise I'd have been very interested to attend. I shall try to make it to the next one tho.

I have prescription sunglasses. They're nowhere near as lovely as the Oakleys I reluctantly donated to my mum but at least I can see to drive when it's sunny now.

Hi from another Midlander. I'm at the other end of the whole experience so if I can give you any advice or support, just let me know. I found it an incredibly lonely journey because I was too useless to find this site earlier so you've already made a better start to coping with the whole experience ...

My story in brief

I first consulted a gp as my eyes were constantly itching and I vision was deteriorating. After seeing gp after gp with no joy, I asked to be referred to a specialist. Finally, I had a diagnosis - allergic conjunctivitis and Keratoconus. I was advised to try a contact lens in my left eye & was t...

Hi from a new girl

Hi all. I feel like I'm joining this a bit late as I've had all the treatment I'm going to get for my eyes. I also feel rather stupid for not thinking of looking for a site like this when I was diagnosed and when I was at my lowest because of my eye condition. So, maybe now I have found this site I ...
