Re: Sunglasses

Hey Joy I can vouch for Maui Jims too, I live in Queensland and its bright and sunny all year round, so wear sunglasses every single day. I have the MJ Sport which are wrap around and polarised, they are awesome, I also have a pair of Ray Ban Sports which are also fantastic glasses. I think the impo...

I have to go back on Thursday so no lens wear until at least then, luckily its the long weekend so I think ...

Feeling a bit sorry for myself

Hi Guys Had to see my Optometrist today have the sorest eye, on Friday I grazed it when I put my scleral in, left the lens out all weekend, had the most hideous photophobia, it felt a little better this morning so I popped the lens in and went to work. Half way through the day I was in so much pain ...

Re: hello from new member in australia

Hi Popeye I'm for Brisbane, welcome! Sorry to hear you are having trouble with lens wear. I have worn sclerals for the last 6 years and they gave me a new lease of life. There are many more options nowadays for us KC'ers :) We do have a Keratoconus Australia site, but unfortunately it doesn't have a...

Hi Abu I wear my lenses in a hot and sunny climate all the time with no ill effects :) Because of the sunshine we get here I wear sunglasses all the time outdoors all year round. As for flying, I keep my lenses in as I would on a normal day for long and short flights. I find it uncomfortable to be w...

Hi, welcome to the forum. I have GPC which is an allergic conjunctivitis, which causes yellow sticky eyes (am allergic to contact lens plastic, go figure that one out!). Go and see your optometrist who will be able to check you out and confirm either an allergy or infection, and give you the releven...

Hi Sweet

I am really sorry to hear that you have had to leave a job that you love, I can understand how you feel as I have fibromyalgia and some days cannot seem to operate.

I truly hope that you get enjoyment and fulfilment from your new role, good luck and take care.

Hi Do you think it could be a fit problem with the lens? I had a check up last week and I had not realised that I had my lenses in the wrong eyes and the right one wasnt fitting quite as it should and wasn't sealing so air bubbles were getting in. If your eye has changed slightly, it could maybe be ...

Hi there Unusual to see that big orange ball in the sky eh! Here in Queensland we have that all year round, not much in the way of seasons so its essential to have a really good pair of sunnies. The best that I have found so far are Maui Jim Sport or Rayban, both polarised. I have pretty extre...

Hi Matthew

By rebate I mean the amount we get back. So for one scleral which is about $1200 I would get about $90 back and be out of pocket over $1100.

Not a great system but the KC community is working towards change.
