Colours not vivid
Hi, I am in the process of trying to get maximum vision from scleral lenses. I have had a left scleral for a few years and still have an RGP in the right. With that combination I can achieve 20/30 vision. My ophthalmologist is trying to improve that by tinkering with the left and switching the right...

Re: Aged 43 and potentially need graft- terrified
Thank you both for your replies. It makes sense that people posting tend to be those who have faced challenges. I am due to see my ophthalmologist in about 5 weeks. I will certainly ask him about piggy backing and the long term prognosis for continuing as I am,
Thanks again
Emma

Aged 43 and potentially need graft- terrified
I have been wearing RGP’s since the age of 21, last year I was fitted with a scleral lens in the left eye as the RGP was causing irritation. It was increasingly watery and so sensitive to light that I couldn’t look upwards for long without it running and being sensitive. The comfort of the Scleral i...

Vision with scleral lens worse than with RGP
Hi, I am on my 3rd scleral lens for my left eye. Each time I see my optometrist and he tests the eye I achieve a decent level of vision during the test, still not as good as the RGP. However, when the actual lens arrives the vision is a lot poorer than what I achieved during the test. This is really...

Re: Move to Scleral Lens from RGP
Thanks for your reply Graham. To be honest I’m not sure what my vision is with my right eye. It’s been such a long time since I have had that eye tested/looked at! It’s definitely better than the left. I have to wait 3 weeks for the new scleral to be sent so I’m back in the RGP until it arrives. I c...

Move to Scleral Lens from RGP
Hi, I am 42 and was diagnosed with KC approx aged 20. Since then I have managed with RGP lenses. Comfort and vision have been okay. However, at least once per day I experience soreness, irritation/watery eyes. This is usually to do with the environment I am in; work (too much screen time), being out...
