Re: Intac Removal

Hi Mousework Thanks for your post. The consultant seemed to be concerned that there may have been some sort of fibroid growth around the intac which may make it more difficult to remove. I am due to go for pre op screening on Tuesday 2nd April and hopefully the op will be within the next couple of w...

Intac Removal

Hi Everyone Has been some time since I last posted ( 2007 ). In summary I had corneal graft surgery in 1999 ( left eye ) and vision is still excellent with small correction from glasses. It was a long road which included cataract replacement , laser correction and finally detached retina , which, th...

floaters

Hi everybody can I re-iterate the need to get large floaters and a sudden increase in small floaters checked urgently. If you also get a " dark curtain effect " in the corner of the vision, this could be the signs of a detached retina. I had this last Christmas Day and it was the prompt ac...

Hi Stokie

In answer to your question , No you cant feel them and I have found this to be a much better option than the graft I had in the other eye.
In fact with glasses I can now see down to the second bottom line on the eye chart.

Hope this helps

Hi Louise

I had the procedure last August and I found the experience not too bad.
The only problem I had was with light sensitivity although this I understand was due to the femtosecond laser they used.
8 months on and the vision is now very good with glasses.

Good luck

sun glasses

I purchased sunglasses from Optimax after my cataract operation. They are the wrap around type with UV protection and I have found these ideal. You can get these at any of the clinics and they only cost £5. In fact because of the cost I bought a couple of pairs and leave a pair in the car for dri...

Hi dplees

you will not be aware of the intac once in place.

I also use a computer for much of the day and I cant say I have experienced any problems.

Hi DPlees Iam also self employed. I had the operation on a Thursday and returned to work the following Monday The light sensitivity certainly lasted for a couple of months and at one point I returned to the clinic as the pain was becoming worse and was prescribed some drops which seem to help. If yo...

Intacs

Hi Karl glad everything is going ok. Having had a graft in my left eye in 1999 and intacs in my right eye last August i know which of the two operations I prefer! Even after the graft I still had very poor vision in my left eye ( - 9.75) and the recovery was a nightmare, with the continual check ups...

Hi gareth

I have been told that the vision should
stabilise in the left eye, without any further change of prescription I have been offered laser on the right eye , but I have decided that I have pushed my luck so far and will make the most of what I have.

cheers

Mark
