Conjunctivitis and RGP
Hello, After 10 years of KC without any eye infections, I picked up conjunctivitis two weeks ago. Firstly in my eye with minimal KC and in the last week in my eye with quite advanced KC. :x Over the past few days my eye has been gunk-free and not red so I’ve been reintroducing my RGP lens into that ...

Re: No Lenses For 2 Weeks
Hello Anne, Thank you for your help. I have one RGP for my right eye and still one 'normal' opticians lens for the left eye despite have KC in both. They have asked for both to be out for 2 weeks, but it's the RGP that I couldn't imagine having out. I did have glasses, but they gave me such bad head...

No Lenses For 2 Weeks
Hello, I've been asked by my hospital to turn up to an appointment with a cornea consultant having not worn my RGP lens for between 2-4 weeks. Apart from the issue that my appointment letter has come with barely two weeks until this appointment, I don't think it's possible for me to live without wea...

Re: First RGP - Advice Needed
Ok, more advice needed... Today at work I gentled rubbed my eye lid as it was a bit sore and the RGP suddenly popped behind my eye, and out of sight (no pun intended) and it took about 10 minutes until it suddenly, and painfully popped back around so I could reposition it. Is this a common event, or...

Re: First RGP - Advice Needed
Thanks Andy, Jez and Jake for your excellent advice. That YouTube video is excellent, apart from her disturbingly smiley face! She certainly makes my concern/frustration seem rather silly!! Like you Jez, I also have rather sausage-like fingers, so it makes the whole process even more fiddly. Luckily...

First RGP - Advice Needed
Hello, After 6 years of KC I've just got my first RGP (after years of hybrid lenses). After two days of wearing I'm finding them rather irritating. I told my wife it feels like a lump of plastic is stuck in my eye, her reply was 'well it is!' Please can you lovely people reassure me that the ...

Re: Moving Hospitals
Thanks Anne,
I'm having a chat with my new GP tomorrow afternoon to see what she can do to sort it out. So if need be I will get her or I will personally contact my former hospital.
Thanks for the help.

Moving Hospitals
Hello All, I have had KC for 6 years and been seen at a (former) local hospital and have come close on a few occasions to being referred for a graft. After moving house I asked my new GP to move me to a more local hospital (as the other is now 2 hours away). My first problem was that my previous GP,...

Re: KC Opticians
Hello, the opticians that I go to for lens fitting and check-ups was set up by my local hospital on my behalf. I see the hospital optomotrist at my local opticians. Your brother may be best to ask the local hospital of any local opticians that they can recommend or, as in my case, the local optician...
