It is about money. I tried EVERY RGP option before they would try me with scleral lenses because of the cost.
I dug my heels in about wearing piggyback lenses as in i didnt want them and hung on for scleral lenses which, touch wood, are now my all seeing eyes.

Can i just say i think you are great for persevering as i tried for 2 days with piggyback lenses and went straight back to the hospital and said 'no way!'. I found it so much hassle keeping two pairs of lenses. Hence i am now wearing sclerals.

Sclerals and swimming
I was told by my contact lens guy that i could swim in goggles with my scleral lenses. But goggles are too close to my eye sockets and press on them causing discomfort and ouch! So instead i went to the pool in a snorkel mask, more comfortable and no problems i thought. Until 10 mins into my swim an...

Celluvisc and Refresh
Both Celluvisc and Refresh are little vials or sealed plastic tubes of liquid. Celluvisc is more of a gel and Refresh is more watery. Both are great for giving your eyes a boost and getting more wear time. They can also help clean deposits of your lenses, depending how dirty they are. You can use th...

that was a bit scary
Rowan That was a bit scary. I live about 5 mins from Tickton. I was told by my lens guy that there was a long wait for grafts at the moment, not sure if the waiting time has reduced by now. I may well have been referred myself by now but for the persistance of my contact lens guru Mr Melia. Have you...
