Re: A DALK diary

4 weeks post op.. Had the tiniest of setbacks: felt some discomfort and eye became bloodshot. This coincided with stopping using Chloramphenicol ointment. Basically it's dry eye. I'm fairly certain that celluvisc at 0.5% is pretty useless in my case and that the ointment was providing better lubrica...

Good to hear it went well and take it easy, good work shouldn't be rushed.

Re: A DALK diary

Thanks for encouragement :D Here's the update I promised... DAY 8; Everyday has been better than the one before, I've been waking and noticing improvement in my vision every day - not having a chart makes my 'tests' fairly subjective, examples being I can see where the kitchen clock is, I can now ma...

A DALK diary

Hi folks, It's DAY 4 following DALK and I thought I'd put up a post describing my experience. Apologies if it rambles. INTRO BIT... I was diagnosed with KC in '96, only my left eye was really effected, the treatment offered was a 'rigid' RGP lenses which despite perseverance was intolerable after ab...

DALK date set

Hi all, my last posts were in 2007 when I had one intac removed, subsequent to that I went back to E.Grinstead when things had settled/healed and had the remaining intac repositioned, the op went well but unfortunately the single intac wasn't as effective as two and the kerataconus scarring gives me...

Thanks all for the support, only have to put drops in every 3 hours now, I'm alternating between Vancomycin and Gentamicin Forte every 1.5 hrs. Apart from having a bloodshot eye and having to go to hospital every day for a check up there's no real effect on my lifestyle. I went back to work on Frida...

Cause is unknown, the intac hasn't so much as worked it's way out as the cornea has eroded or retracted exposing the intac. The upside is that right now my eyesight has never been so good, i manged an extra line on the chart today and it wasn't the chart I've memorised either ;o). I'm told there is ...

intac removed

Hi all, had my intacs put in my left eye in April at East Grinstead, all went well and recovery was hassle free, although I couldn't tolerate the bandage contact lens. I went in on tuesday expecting to get a prescription for glasses and was told that my cornea had 'melted' around the insertion point...

Hi Karl,
I'm going in for intac surgery tomorrow, I'd just like to say thankyou for posting your diary, it's been interesting and informative, for both myself and my family.
All the best for the future
Chad
