Swelling after graft

Hello everyone, just wondered if anyone had experienced noticable swelling above the grafted eye post surgery. The area around my eyebrows is swollen, and skin tone is slightly lighter here. I had a partial thickness graft 5 weeks ago. I have no pain from this but the eye looks a little bit more clo...

Re: Warning-pitfalls of heathcare

Hello.

I have had 2 grafts in the last 9 months, the most recent being Wednesday....

BUPA paid up no problem for last year, and CIGNA just happily paid for this one.

Good luck.

Re: cancelled graft

Hi Charlene, Sorry to hear this, and I had an identical situation in June. Cancelled 3 days before, and told the donor was too old. My Consultant very apologetic (not his fault) but said he's put some priority towards another cornea by speaking to Bristol. He classed my graft as a "young graft&...

Hi there, Day 12 today, and I returned to work. No pain, no watering, no gunk, no more eye protector at night. Vision continues to improve. After wearing a lens for 25 years in my left eye it is very weird not to have to worry about it popping out any more! Best thing I ever did/had done to me! How ...

Hi, day 5 now. Much less watering, and vision still better than before. The "wow" what-a-difference sight improvements have slowed down, but I guess that's to be expected. I understand it can take many months to stabilise. Still gunky in the morning, but not so difficult to open the eye in...

Hi again, a little update. So I'm at T+72 hours from the graft now. On the whole still very positive and definitely pain free. There is a little discomfort primarily due to the watering, which is starting to subside. The "water" seems a little heavier than normal tears, probably the mixtur...

Hi, thanks for all the welcome posts.

To be clear it was a full thickness graft.

Cheers.

Had my graft yesterday too!

Hi, first post here, but have read for a few years. I note the comedyjester was due to have a graft on the same day. My graft happened yesterday at Frimley Park, Camberley, under Mr Poole. I'm writing this in the hope that others may find it useful, as I took great strength reading the views and exp...
