Re: Post Graft exercise

I was back on my quieter horse 4 weeks post graft with my left eye (2002) and resumed walk/run marathon training 4 weeks post graft with my right eye (2005). I'm careful around my horses even now, the Shetlands are far worse than the bigger ones as they rear! This brings their heads to shoulder heig...

Re: Astounding in 2014

I just wanted to add my thanks for the newsletters. I find it much easier to read the printed format than as an email on my iPad. I'll be taking my copy of the newsletter with me to the Royal Liverpool on Friday and will leave it in the waiting area for others to read.

Re: Treatment just done...

Unfortunately we never got to our appointment as Flybe cancelled the flight at the last minute! Have an appointment for next Friday instead so Mike still has a bandage lens in and is off work for another week.

Re: Treatment just done...

Mike had it done on his better eye. His "bad" eye had a transplant last September. Still has stitches in, vison gradually improving. His crosslinked eye is improving day by day, less blurred. He's been signed off work for 10 days and we've just got our appointment through for Friday. Fligh...

Re: Treatment just done...

i def wouldn't tell him. Mike said it was wierd seeing the surgeon etc more than anything. He had a nurse holding his hand - she just sat next to him throughout, he was quite embarrassed but think he was glad she was there really! Just seen him today and his eye is much, much better. Less sore and l...

Re: Treatment just done...

Hi Eileen, we're just back from St Pauls, stayed over for a few days in case Mike needed to go back. He had the CXL on Thurs, not very pleasant as it takes about half an hour under local anasthetic. Mike couldn't feel anything but he said it was wierd being able to see what was happening! He has ant...

Re: Has anyone had collagen cross linking?

Thanks Eileen. We didn't manage to get Mike to the Royal Liverpool until June 2009 despite me having the condition. We went thinking that Mike would need specialist lenses for his worst eye. Mr Batterbury took one look and said he needed a transplant! Things have moved so fast since then, but Mike's...

Re: Has anyone had collagen cross linking?

My main concern is that we're going to Liverpool on the 19th for a check up on his right eye which had a corneal graft on September 2009. His vision hasn't improved much so I'm thinking that they may well take the stitches out. Hopefully this will improve his vision so that when he has the CXL the f...

Re: Dental xrays - any dangers to KC eyes

I've had quite a few dental x rays, no problems with my eyes as far as I'm aware. :)

Re: Has anyone had collagen cross linking?

My son is having CXL at the Royal Liverpool on 25th November. It's NHS, saw his consultant in August so it's come through pretty fast. Will let you know how he gets on.
