Best £8 I've Ever Spent !!

My neighbour is an AVON Rep and I ordered this clock a couple of weeks ago - It has revolutionised my life (well almost) it projects the time onto the ceiling in large figures, you just push the top and If I squint I can actually see the time ! No more searching for watches/clocks and holding them a...

Re: Sunglasses

It sounds very posey, but I've got a massive pair of Chanel sunglasses - they have all the right filters on, wraparound and fit really close to the head - I'd been looking for a 'right' pair for ages and went into a small independant opticians and told them I had KC - they weren't the most expensive...

Re: Nintendo DS Lite

Sadly not Andrew, but they should be - my non-KC friends/family think I'm mad the way I've been raving about it - I know it sounds daft, but it is SO liberating being able to do something WITHOUT my lenses ! It's also satisfying to watch how your skills on the Brain Training programme increase - the...

Nintendo DS Lite

No not an advert, but I bought one of these a few weeks ago, and they are brilliant for us KC lens wearers. When I take my lenses out, I can't read or watch TV, but as these consoles are hand held, you can hold them really close, and 'play' without lenses. My life has been revolutionised  Chris...

Re: Lost Confidence

Thanks again for all your replies - I have taken your advice and invested in a BIG pair of wraparound glasses, also put spare lenses (in case one pops out !) solutions etc in the glove compartment (does ANYONE actually keep gloves in their glove compartment ?) Also bought pack of anti-bacterial hand...

Re: Lost Confidence

Many thanks for your replies Andrew and Michael, I've got a dog show in Lytham in a couple of weeks, and I'm determined to have regained my confidence by then - I think I need to throw myself in at the deep end. Thinking rationally, it's the first time in 20 years it's happened, so by the law of ave...

Lost Confidence

Hi all Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this, A few months ago (in the summer) I was driving along and must have simultaneously got a bit of grit in both of my eyes, of course they both started watering buckets and (as we all know) the pain was horrific. In normal circumstances I would ...

Re: KC research at Manchester University

I went on Thursday and was met in reception by Francisca who's a lovely, bubbly, friendly person. There was a series of tests - first with lenses in and then lenses out, none were in the least bit painful or uncomfortable - just like a normal (but extended) eye exam, and there was no discomfort at a...

Made me laugh

I picked up a spare set of lenses the other day which came with a Boston 'starter pack' Obviously I was grateful for the freebie, but you should have seen the tiny print size of the instructions written on the bottles - surely they must know people with RGP lenses havent got the greatest eyesight. I...
