Re: New here. Having CXL next month and terrified!

Hi Ozfiz

Do you know if CXL work well with intacs? I had mine put in about 5 years ago now. All in all they are working really well but still have some off days. I have considered looking into the CXL if it works just to try something new really.

intacs

Hi Jack I had my intacs put in both eyes nearly 12 months ago ( I go back next week for my check). Like you I am every light sensitive but with different colour glasses it is manageable. I can still feel mine everytime I blink but I have sort of got used to it now. Sometimes I forget and rub my eye ...

Hi Pete I had my intacs fitted in March, as I had become intolerant to lenses. I had them put in both eyes. I had to wait weeks before I could get my eyes tested. For those 6 weeks my vision was next to nothing. I can now manage with just glasses. There are a few ups and downs but all in all it seem...

I can go for my eyes testing at the beginning of May and hopefully will be able to get away with wearing glasses because my conjuntivitus keeps coming back.

I'm feeling really positive about things now. For the first time in months I cansee light at the end of the tunnel. Left eye still not doing much and my right eye gets tired and gives me headaches if I do too much but apart from that things are looking good (pardon the pun).

Louise

Do you mean how much did it cost?

It was cheaper to have both eyes on together. To have them done at different times it was £2000 per eye but you get discount for a job lot!!

I have light sensitivity as well and my consultant said today that it should fade slightly as time goes on but as I get used to it I probably wont notice it as much.

My intacs were not done with a laser, the channels were made with a special piece of equipment when the vaccum was on my cornea. I was actually in theatre for just over an hour. The time before that was spent doing all the admission paperwork and making the necessary measurements and the time I spen...
