Re: Bit anxious
Yes Anne I was really shocked to experience that pain, I wasn't prepared for it, and as you rightly say it's not associated with grafts. I am hoping this DMEK & cataract op will be a normal experience. I tried to ask once in clinic but received no answer, and the consultant I was under at that t...

Bit anxious
I've got a DMEK for PK re-graft failure (and cataract), coming up in a couple of months. I'm anxious about this because I'm guessing this is the last chance for that eye, but I'm also worried about immediate post-op because of what happened after the re-graft. I had immense pain immediately with the...

Personally I don't think that device is worth the money, a minute with a clean finger and lid gel downwards and across lashline is better for control of pressure

Re: What to do when the hospital doesn't answer?
Optometry say that if there's a problem to call them.
This system doesn't work at Moorfields, no one ever replies so its down to being bad enough for A&E or waiting for the next appt (which are bring cut down) or PALS, but good luck there.
This is a problem

Re: Moorfields overnight?
That sounds really hard Space Cadet.
I just think it's wrong to have zero provision for people in a lot of pain, unable to open eyes, or distance. Why not at least have a room, 2 beds (1 for a relative) even for a nominal price for these situations?
Would the group support such a proposal?

Moorfields overnight?
Is it me or has the hostel bit disappeared from the website and 'staying overnight' lists hotels. This is wrong, after my last operation I was (unexpectedly) in a very high level of pain. I couldn't open the other eye because it then hurt the operated eye even more, so I was fully blind, without pai...

Public perception of visual impairment
Today Claire Sisko on the news, a registered blind person speaking about being called a faker because of makeup, using a mobile phone, I'm sure many of us can relate to this, the difficulty of being at opposite ends of the chart with & without lenses for example. Variable visual impairment via r...
