Poor little mite. I hope they can find a solution for him and he can quickly adapt to yet another challenge! Wishing you the best of luck.

Re: New to the forum... And uncertain about all of this
SwissRich, Good luck! This is an understandably worrying time but once you get a definitive diagnosis and plan of action, thing usually get better or at least you can terms with it. Most of us have benefited from the numerous treatments and have a normal life. Best wishes

Re: At what point did you 'give in' to keratoconus?
I think I also prefer to accept than give in. I have found that despite also being legally blind in my left eye and partially sighted in the right (uncorrected), life goes on. I am lucky in that I can get really good VA with piggy back lenses although summer is hell with constant infections caused b...

Keratoconus and anthrax?
This might be clutching at straws but.... I have just read that the anthrax toxin is a collagein fact it could be used to treat the over-expression of collagen leading to tumours. Could anthrax immunisation trigger KC? If anyone is working in this area, I would be very grateful for an opinion. I was...

Re: Just been told I have Keratoconus
I found that I could not tolerate lenses, it was a real issue because glasses simply do not correct keratoconous in a number of cases (including mine). So contact lenses become the only real possibility even after a graft. However, I found that piggy-backing a hard lens on a soft one solved this pro...

Re: Reporting from the other side
Kamran, Thanks for this, it will be really helpful for those about to go through similar experiences. It all sounds very familiar to me having gone through the same operation. Good luck with your recovery, I hope that, like me, you will enjoy great vision in the future. I am sure you have been told ...

Re: Diagnosed yesterday
Hi Emma Jayne, That's good advice above. Welcome to the forum, hope you get the answers you are looking for. Crosslinking sounds very effective in most cases. It can stabilise your condition and then you have options from there to get back to normal. It can all be very daunting at first but once you...

Re: great site
Yeah, hope the CXL works, it is a shame you have had to put up with it so long without treatment. My own experience was a lot better on the NHS at Gartnavel up here in Scotland. I did have one rather dismissive ophthalmologist but the vast majority have been brilliant. I would be out of a job had th...

Re: Feeling downbeat
Hi Andy, I hope it goes well at the Countess. Its quite understandable to be worried, especially during this stage when you don't really know too much about the situation. I am sure that the truth about both eyes will emerge and then at least you will know where you are at. I too thought my liveliho...
