Re: Reporting from the other side
Thank you Matt. Glad to hear you are enjoying good vision following your graft. If you dont mind me asking can I ask how long ago you had your graft and whether you had any issues after surgery. A couple of days ago I noticed some haziness around the cornea and after ringing the hospital was advised...

Re: Reporting from the other side
Thank you both for your kind wishes. As a further note, health permitting, I will also be attending the next meeting in West Midlands (taking place on 16th April) to discuss my experience of having a graft. I understand that John Thatcher has already announced this get together and I would encourage...

Reporting from the other side
Hi All, I find I would only visit and post on this forum when I was unsure about what to do with my KC treatment or when I felt frustrated. I had told myself that I really should make a conscience effort to contribute more often to the forum as I recall it was the feedback I received to my posts and...

Re: Corneal graft. Daniel Calladine. Spire Hospital Worcester
Hi John, I have had a graft (DALK) less than a week ago in my right eye. Unfortunately the contact lens solution did not work for me as finding a lens to fit my eye was a problem and there was also significant scarring in the eye. I was therefore told to either have a graft or continue to manage wit...

Re: Coming Soon
Hi everyone,
Just to let you know that my operation was postponed due to the chest infection not clearing. I now have to wait for another date which is now going to be in the new year unless there is a cancellation.

Re: Coming Soon
Thank you everyone for your messages. They really do provide a source of support. It's much appreciated. You are right Anne. I have been waiting for over a year and have been counting the weeks down. I also tried to plan the surgery so that it took place in winter and in doing so would be avoiding t...

Re: Coming Soon
Hi Ian
Thank you for your post, which was very helpful. Unfortunately I have developed a chest infection so it is touch and go as to whether this will clear in time to allow the surgery to proceed
Keeping my fingers crossed that I don't have another setback.

Coming Soon
Hi all, Hope you're all well. Since my last post and taking into account the comments I received, I decided to press ahead with having a graft in my right eye. However, with the date fast approaching (3rd December), I am beginning to feel quite nervous and anxious about the procedure. I was wonderin...

Re: Confused !!
Hi Thank you for taking the time to read and respond to my post.I did not mention before but I also suffer from hay fever and this would cause me to rub my eyes a lot which in turn probably contributed to the thinning of the cornea. With respect to the contact lens options I was told that due to the...

Confused !!
Hi, My name is Mohammad Kamran and I am 34 years old. I am new to this forum. Approximately three years ago I was referred to the hospital after being told at an eye test that there was a possibility of having keratoconus in my right eye. This was confirmed by the hospital who advised that the condi...
