Re: Piggyback user problems.

Sweet, you are kindred spirit, I too couldn't handle rgps on their own. My optometrist said its interesting because rgp intolerance is considered to be due to eye-lid sensation so piggy backing shouldn't make any difference.

Re: Calling members in Scotland

I will try to go along. I have been lousy at going to the Scottish meetings as I am in the Navy and usuallly away, but I am actually around for a change.

I have changed my flag to a Scottish one as I have now officially lived in Scotland for longer than England. Is is OK to be an affinity Scot?

Re: Bad decision

Well done Andrew, sounds really enjoyable.

I can imagine the problems you would have without your rgps though.

Re: Piggyback user problems.

Sorry, forgot to add, I use viscotears, these are great, quite gel-like but keep the eye moist for a good long while without blurring my vision for more than a couple of seconds.

Re: Piggyback user problems.

Hi, I am now a piggy-backer. Been doing this for about six months. I am doing all right with this. I do need a lot of drops, but my va is so much better than glasses (I've gone from 6/12 to 6/5 corrected), and rgps on their own are too uncomfortable. To make the piggy-backing work, I have developed ...

Re: Does the progression of KC stop after age 40?

This thread is now a few years old and when I posted, I was hoping mine would stop soon. In fact the left eye stabilised as you might expect post-graft in 2007 (I was 37). I am 42 this year and my right eye continues to progress and I am now on the waiting list for the right eye for a DALK. I think ...

Re: Kerasoft Advice

Hi, I used kerasoft lenses for a couple of years until very recently. I am not sure you could mis-handle them without deliberate intent. I treated them much the same as you would other lenses. Specifically, I cleaned them with a normal cleaning solution and then left overnight in a peroxide system l...

Re: Glasses post grafting.

I think it is overall a good thing and it does take time. I now have glasses and a piggy back system over the right eye, the left eye is grafted and has no lenses, just glasses. My prescription has changed so much of late that I would have to disagree with Gareth on glasses being cheaper, new lenses...
