Re: Kerasoft cl
I had cxl done a few months back and I'm due to collect my first set of soft lenses next Wednesday! For once I'm not being too optimistic as I didn't get on with them brilliantly when they were getting my prescription with them in (was really hard to open my left eye with it in) Hopefully with measu...

Re: Cross Linking
Hi all, Had my cross linking done Saturday. Was in a lot of discomfort that evening which meant very little sleep! I was given some eye drops which really helped ease the pain. My eye is still quite swollen and extremely sensitive to the light so I've bought a pair of sunglasses! Procedure itself wa...

Re: Cross Linking
Ryan, Good luck with the op!!! I haven't been here for a very long time, but just wanted to say that my daughter has KC and yesterday at moorfields I requested referral for the C3R which after a great debate about the pros and cons he made the referral. I should here from the consultant in a couple...

Re: Cross Linking
I'm so used to saying it's 'Next Saturday', now it's 'This Saturday'.
Really nervous, but hopefully after the first eye is done I'll realise there's not a lot to be nervous about! (well that's the plan anyway!!)

Re: After a long break, I'm finally around to say hello!
Hi James, Welcome back - I'm new, so it's great to hear peoples stories, although I'm sorry yours hasn't been brilliant so far. I'm glad I read your post, as you mentioned about what 'score' your vision is. I've not come across any posts yet that mention these kind of numbers and I don't really unde...

Hi Libby, a consultant at the hospital is doing the procedure through a private hospital (Spire Healthcare to be precise)

Re: Cross Linking
Hi Ryan, It's only been a year since I had the first eye done so it's probably still a bit too soon to see a noticeable improvement. However, my vision hasn't got any worse either which is obviously good, and the follow-up scans I've had show a slight improvement in one eye so far, so it's heading ...

Re: Cross Linking
Hi Ryan, I had cross-linking done on both eyes and yes, I think in most cases it is still done privately. As Anne says, the procedure itself isn't painful (mainly due to the anaesthetic drops they put in your eye) but it certainly is painful for the first 48-72 hours afterwards. I think regardless ...

Re: Cross Linking
Hello Ryan and welcome! No apologies needed - this is the place to come if you want to talk to other people who know what it's like to have KC. There's just a handful of hospitals that offer CXL on the NHS (though hopefully that will begin to change now that NICE has approved it and more hospitals ...

Re: Cross Linking
I forgot to mention as well, my brother has just been diagnosed with it, and my Dad has it also. Has anyone else been in this sort of situation?
