Re: Better glasses for KC?

Not been on here for a while but popped on to see if there was any update to this. How would we know if further research has taken place? I'd love to be able to wear glasses out and about again.

Re: Scleral contact lenses

I tried these but unfortunately they caused blood vessels to form under my eyelid, so were not recommended for full time usage. I could perhaps go to Moorfields for another attempt... but I've not bothered with that yet. Otherwise they were good, I found the vision better than regular soft lenses an...

Re: Options?

I've just read through this entire thread and it seems you've been on quite a journey! Sorry to hear of the mental effects on your life, I'm sure we've all been there at some point. I have more or less given up trying to get better vision now, so is why I don't often visit here any more. I was howev...

Re: Has anyone had keratoconus progress in one eye after the age of 30?

This is similar to my situation - Coming up to 30 I had moderate KC in one eye, and mild in the other. I decided to get CXL on the worse eye, and it went well. I wasn't sure what to do on the better eye - I obviously didn't want it getting worse, but then it didn't seem to be progressing either. I f...

Re: So, tried out some scleral lenses. A few questions...

Hiya. I can't remember specifically, but I know I was getting blood vessels growing behind the eye so I unfortunately had to give up on these. My optometrist did say I could pursue further by going to specialists at Moorfields, but in the end I didn't bother.

Eye Twitching

Over the past few weeks I've had insane eye twitching just in my right eye (annoyingly, my 'good' eye) It gets to the point where I feel dizzy and a bit sick it's moving around so much. I've had it many times before but never this bad! Normal causes... yes I am tired having a 7 month old baby at hom...

Re: CXL - Advice sought

It is a very tough choice and the exact same one I had to make! I had previously had CXL in my bad eye, and it went well. Then I was stuck thinking about whether to go for it with my good eye... ultimately I thought, I want to keep my good vision, so yes let's go for it. Bad choice. Precedure had co...

Re: Got Keratoconus, What field do you work in??

I work in radiotherapy as an equipment technician - Don't really find keratoconus effects anything specifically apart from maybe looking at lasers! It's a bit hard to see what the fine line is when you're seeing 5 of the same line  it's a shame I don't have the opportunity to move on to being...

Re: Driving

Pretty much impossible. I drive around my local town if I absolutely have to, but would never venture on to roads unknown. Try driving with RGPs; it's like something out of Star Wars!
