Re: Switched to RGPs - very happy

Thank you for the quick reply.

I don't have glasses at the moment so when i don't have lenses in, I can barely do anything, not even watch TV.

I clean and soak them in all in one solution overnight and use these two vile things that smell of chlorine once every three weeks as told by my opto.

Re: Switched to RGPs - very happy

So I have been wearing my ccontacts happily for the past 3 months. In the past week or so they have started making my eyes ache. They also sting like crazy when I first put them in. The headaches are also getting quite bad, although vision is still very very good. I wear them for 13 hours a day 7 da...

Re: Help Needed

Hi :) I get this a lot at work with the air con too, the whole eye goes bloodshot and sore like hayfever. I used to use dry eye drops but they didn't seem to help much, just making my contact slide a lot. I have learnt mostly to live with it now, but I carry soothing eyewash around with me and take ...

Switched to RGPs - very happy

Got my new RGP lenses yesterday, one of them anyway, the other has to be sent back to change it. My optician seemed to think of this as a downgrade from my kerasoft lenses, but I am finding these so much better! They are smaller and easier to put in/take out, the are actually more comfortable thank ...

Hi :) I'm pretty new here too, welcome.

I also drive as part of my job, I can only drive with contacts and sunglasses. As for night driving I do it although I shouldn't as haloing is really bad, a lot of night driving for me is guesswork but I have to do it or lose my job.

Explaning KC

I am guessing I'm not the only one who gets "are you short or long sighted" "why don't you have laser surgery" kind of questions. I was just wondering how everyone explains it to people? Working in a shop on the counter I get it a lot and have now resorted to "I don't know&q...

Re: Nhs funding

I am now very confused. Looking at the prices above and considering I have had one new set of contacts this year, not including my new rgp that I was fitted for after I was told and roughly 5 or 6 eye tests, how could my treatment possibly stand at over £2000 :s and as for the 'others' who's balance...

Re: Nhs funding

I haven't got them yet, they were ordered a couple days ago, not sure how long they take.

Not really looking forward to them, I get 10 to 12 hours wear out of my current ones and from what I understand the wear time of rgps are alot less.
