Re: Does anybody know...?

Hi, thanks for your reply. I saw an optician in March who said it might be KC, then I saw a consultant at hospital in April who said it was definitely KC. Then on Tuesday I saw a different hospital consultant who said it was definitely not KC and is High Astigmatism. V confusing.

Does anybody know...?

Hi, I'm very confused, and looking this up via google has not been very successful. I was told in April by an ophthalmologist I had Keratoconus in both eyes, worse in my right. This morning I have been to an appointment, seen a different consultant, who says it is not KC, it is high astigmatism, but...

Re: Anti glare coatings for glasses. Any good?

Hi Russell, I have anti-glare on my prescription glasses, but in all honesty I still find I'm affected by the ghosting. It probably does make a small difference as in it would be better to have it than not, but I think you will still be affected.

Hope this helps :)

Re: Overwhelmed newbie!

Thanks guys, that's really useful about the contacts and which one is which, I hadn't even thought about that :)

I am going to see my GP tomorrow to ask about being referred to Sheffield. I'm hoping this wont be a problem, has anyone else had to change hospitals before?

Re: Overwhelmed newbie!

Hiya, I'm going to Doncaster Royal Infirmary, I don't really know much about their ophthalmic services, but my consultant did say that I may need to be referred to Sheffield for corneal topography as they don't do it at DRI.

Re: Overwhelmed newbie!

Brilliant, thank you Munster I will def do that. I phoned hospital today to see why I've not received my lens appointment through yet and they hadn't even got a referral for me for that clinic, doh! So I'm off to a good start, I can see this becoming a but of a 'mare!

Re: Overwhelmed newbie!

If I mention my allergies and dry eye to the optometrist in the contact lens clinic will they be able to help me? Can they prescribe drops etc? I am a bit unfamiliar with what different peoples roles are in all this, like the ophthalmologist and the optometrist? are they both doctors?

Re: Overwhelmed newbie!

Hi nick, thanks for the tips. I just looked up the EyeBag, it looks really good I'm going to order one! Perfect for my eyes before I even get to the contact lenses! :D
