Re: Given up with Piggybacking
Well, Friday came early for me! Managed to get a cancellation appointment today. So that was good news for me. We're gonna try semi scleral lenses. Apparently the soft lens was sticking on to my eye causing the burning feeling. Fingers crossed for the scleral lenses. Just need to wait for a week or ...

Re: Given up with Piggybacking
Hi lia Sadly I didn't get in to see them. The hosptial called and said I could have an appointment on Friday. More time off work until I get this sorted out. It was fun trying to explain this to my work. I used soft lenses before and then the RGP ones, so I'm generally quite comfortable with putting...

Re: Given up with Piggybacking
Hi Lia Thanks for the reply! Did you ever have a burning a cosy feeling in ur eyes when u first started? Is this normal or will it take time to adapt? I'm managing my lenses in for 4-5hrs but that's all! I have no idea what type of soft lenses I'm wearing, however I will ask 2moro if I actually get ...

Re: How do you deal with 'bad eye' days?
as someone whose KC has left them formally and legally registered blind it does tend to upset me when people refer to a "bad eye day" as a day without lens wear or painful lens wear, for some of us lenses are not or may not have been a option for a long time at least you get the days when...

Re: Given up with Piggybacking
Hi I've had keratoconus for a quite few years now (not sure how many to be precise, I had my head in the sand for the first while). Anyhow, I've had soft lenses, which were successful for a few years then I was moved onto RGPs which again were fine for another few years. Although this last year or s...

Re: Overwhelmed newbie!
Hi Cherry Reading your post, I could relate to some of what you were saying. I was diagnosed 5 yrs ago, and similarly was not keen at all to put lenses in my eyes. It was never fully explained to me why I needed to, other than "If you want to see, you need to!" At first I got soft lenses (...

Re: Piggybacking??
Thanks Andrew for your reply. Really appreciate your advice. Will ask my optometrist about these options on my next appointment, as I never knew they existed, hence a lot of my frustration about this condition/ treatment options.

Piggybacking??
Hi I am new to this forum. I have had KC for about five years now and have kinda had my head in the sand regarding it. I'm struggling to admit I'm struggling with my sight. I do attend at the Gart navel hospital. Initially I had soft lenses and I now wear GP lenses. I have been struggling with one o...
