Re: Can I wear contact lenses?
Well, I had the lens fitted and the left lens is perfect, comfortable and excellent vision. The right lens is a different story. 1. Not as comfortable as the left, but this can probably be improved upon? 2. Vision is blurry or misty. I had noticed this to a lesser degree with glasses on. It usually ...

Re: Can I wear contact lenses?
update. I was seen by a contact lens specialist at the hospital and I had a follow up appointment at his shop. I was fitted with contacts and the attainable vision was 6/6 in both eyes. The clarity was simply brilliant and I now await the personal lenses to be made for me.
A great result!

Re: Can I wear contact lenses?
Well, the appointment went well! The consultant explained well what was going on. I have, as I already knew, the beginnings of cataracts, but they are not affecting the vision too much right now and he says that they don't need doing yet. He went on to explain that the vision in the left eye is bein...

Re: Can I wear contact lenses?
Hi both! I don't go to a specialist eye hospital, just my local one. I don't think they have a contact lens dept, but as I see the specialist next week, I really should be pushing for a contact lens in at least my left eye. I was told on my last visit that there is also a cataract forming in the lef...

Can I wear contact lenses?
Hi all! I think I last posted here about 12 years ago, so not exactly a regular. :P I had full grafts some 33 and 32 years ago. My right eye is good still, but the left is deteriorating with regards to vision. I have been to the optician and there are no corrections that he can do to make it better ...

Re: What's your story?
Hi All, I got my date for my cornea transplant which is 20th November, I am abit nervous and excited as I have wanted this done for ages. Can any of you give me some advise on the before and after surgery? I have read on the internet on some sites that after the operation I will have to wear a pad ...

Re: What's your story?
Great info, thanks Chris. I think I might go to the GP to see what she says about this. My concern would be that she would be reluctant to refer me as my need is out of vanity and not necessity.

Re: What's your story?
Hi Sutts, I've always assumed that the grafted cornea is a lot less delicate than the thin, stretchy one it replaced! I'm assuming you're in the UK, where most of us get our lenses from a hospital eye dept which is where the optometrists who know about fitting KC or post transplant eyes tend to be ...
