Re: 3D printed human corneas are a reality!

Interesting, my first graft had continuous stitches that were removed in one go and that is the best one. My second had individual stitches that were removed two at a time and that has left an astigmatism of 7 which is managable.

Good luck.

Re: 3D printed human corneas are a reality!

Thank you Rob, I have attributed the post to you. We have only recently updated our website and can now post news instantly, so its good that members like you alert us to this kind of development. On the subject of grafts, I'm afraid I am biased but they have been the best thing that has happened to...

Re: Advice Please - Commuting to/from work

Before having grafts, I struggled with the low sun around March time and put it down to tree pollen. I survived commuting by using extra strong ski sunglasses with closed sides. Good luck.

Moorfields Eye to Eye 14 mile walk 2018

Eight of us formed the KC team among the 500 walkers. We gathered in front of the piano in Moorfields reception for a photo. After two of the coldest days in decades, the sun came out to send us on our way. It was a bright crisp morning with plenty of ice still floating on the canal. The route was p...

My KC Story

Recently I have become more aware of the importance of sharing our experiences. I realised that until I telephoned Anne Klepacz in 2014, apart from hospital clinics, I had not spoken to a single person who had the condition or knew anything about it. All the time I was under the NHS I felt that it w...

Without lenses I’m sure I too would have been classified as legally blind. It was a long time ago but I remember that without lenses I could not cross the road or even butter my toast easily. I had to stand about 5 foot away from the top letter on the eye chart before I could read it. That said, wit...

Re: Recently diagnosed

To add to what Anne has said, many of us have managed full careers with the aid of specialist contact lenses and, where necessary transplants. I had my second transplant in 1995 and, at the time had a 30 mile drive to work. From memory, I only had a few weeks off work, so all is not lost. Finding so...

Re: Honest Opinions Please

I have just watched the DVD of the 2013 Confrence. It is worth watching the first speaker on the treatment of Keratoconus, I found it interesting. I'm sure Anne will send you a copy if you haven't got one already?
