Re: Overwhelmed newbie!

Basically that what happened for myself. I did see the fitter on the same day but to discuss what to try / order. Then lenses were ordered to try later, but obviously hospitals do vary. So you'll probably have a few appointments but it is worth it in the end. I couldn't believe how good my vision wa...

Re: Overwhelmed newbie!

Procedures do vary but I had several appointments to get the best fit / vision for you. They will typically order you some contact lenses which they will fit and then work over-the-top (like a regular optician testing if lens one or two is better) of these with different lenses to see if they can ge...

Re: Overwhelmed newbie!

Hi

Remember its not all doom and gloom. I was diagnosed about a year ago and felt terrible. As mentioned before there are plenty of solutions for eyes not just RGPs. I never wore contact lenses before diagnosis and hated the thought of them but you do get used to them very quickly.

Cross linking and the NHS

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone has any experiences of cross linking on the nhs? My local nhs does not offer it but does anyone know if this is offered at Manchester eye hospital or any other hospitals in the north west?

Re: How long does it take to get used to kerasoft lenses?

Unfortunately I don't have crisp/perfect vision out of my Kerasoft eye, it's something I've come to accept that I will never get 100% vision with a soft lens. After a lot of appointments with my contact lens fitter this was the best lens for me as I wanted comfort and great wear time. I personally n...

Re: How long does it take to get used to kerasoft lenses?

Hello I've recently started wearing the Kerasoft 2 from never wearing contact lenses. It took my a good 2/3 months to get fully used to wearing contact lenses. I have good days and bad days with my Kerasoft 90% are good where my vision is good (not crisp or sharp like you) and 10% where I shouldn't ...

Re: Kerasoft Advice

Hello I used to use the Kerasoft 2 until very recently but maybe going back to normal toric contact lenses depending on how I get on. Obviously Kerasoft may or may not work for you but it's defiantly an option to explore if you're having trouble. I am currently under the NHS at a normal high street ...

Re: Kerisoft lenses - fitting process?

Hello Ian I've recently been diagnosed and have been fitted with Kerasoft 2 for my bad eye (they tried to fit me with the 3 and IC but made my vision worse). All in all it took around three appointments to be fitted. I've never had to go for rigid lenses but I still have difficultly with Kerasoft 2....
