Re: Fitting Scleral Lenses

I too can sympathise with Jezz, I have the same issue with the scleral lenses. I have no issues in putting them in & for the first 4/5 hours no worries but later afternoon I find the lenses have this 'fogging' steaming up affect making vision, only thing I can do is remove them & replace the...

Hi Lynn As you know I use piggyback lenses. Not sure where they come from, regarding the soft lens which I put in first to cover my eye they are 1 day Biomedics Ocufilcon soft lenses made by Ocular Sciences San Francisco, USA the outer lens which is placed on top of the soft lens is a small RGP whic...

PUS/CONTACT LENSES

Hi When I was diagnosed in 1997 I started to use Sauflon One Step Peroxide System & then when I moved on to the piggyback lenses I was advised to use the Quattro Abatron system which is what you mentioned Susan. I use Amiclair actually, well Amiclair tablets, but didn't realise the protein conne...

PUS/CONTACT LENSES

Hi Susan

I don't actually use protein remover & it's something that hasn't been mentioned. The only liquids I use are Quattro which apparently is a sterilising & cleaning solution.

MUCUS/PIGGY BACK LENSES

To Lynn thanks for comments. Susan Unfortunately things haven't improved, some nights the right eye is worse. I have been using Systane but to no avail. A couple of nights a go I had mucus not only in the centre of eye but some in corner of my right eye & getting it out, well. It materialises af...

To Susan What a relief to read your post because what you decribed is exactly what happens to me. As you say on removal it gets sticky & gooey. The drops (mentioned in prev post) I'm currently using have no affect on it at all. I too get pus in the corner of my eye as well as building up within ...

I believe it is pus, it's how the dictionary defines it as a yellowish matter. There's no pain or discomfort, just annoyance on my part as it blocks my vision. I can remove the pus with my fingers but a new lot will materialise very quickly, I just don't know why & how to stop it plus why is it ...

PUS/CONTACT LENSES

To JayUK, to answer your question both eyes are clear. I don't have any styes. When I last saw the consultant he checked for that & has given some Celluvisc drops but they haven't done anything. I'm due to report back to my consultant on 3/3/05. Ironically through out the day there's no problem ...
