Re: re-graft

Hi lubyloo - welcome to the site. I too have had a graft 18 months ago which is very misshapen. I had a keratotomy in January - tiny little radial scoring of the cornea using a diamond. The idea being to release the tension in the cornea and to allow it to relax into a better shape. Check out my Pos...

Re: Anyone else in the same boat?

I too am not aware of any connection between cataracts & steroid drops. When I developed cataracts it was only 3 months after my graft and I asked "why" and was told that cataracts can form as part of a post surgery/trauma response. Steroids were not mentioned as a cause.

Re: Cross-linking clinical trial

Hi Dan - I guess I am one of those who ultimately has had graft and therefore am now way off the scale for this set of questions - especially as i have recently become registered as partially sighted on my last visit to Moorfields a month ago! However I will answer from the perspective of.... if I h...

Re: KC Contact lens specialists

Sorry Liam - my only advice is based upon the severity of my KC.. I am with Moorfields Eye Hospital. I guess my judgement may be clouded by the severity but... Would I go anywhere else? No. I wonder whether maybe you might go to your GP to query a referral to specialist in NHS? Just not sure, from s...

Re: Update: Corneal Graft Experience Questionnaire

Anne - I absolutely agree with you re. Lack of responses - it is a sad indemnity. I responded on the day it went live. I suspect that the same is true for the 20 or so who have replied. I am starting to be concerned that this website is more about looking than contributing for many. To be honest In ...

Re: Almost blind

Hi Grim - I am sorry but I really can't offer you words of wisdom here - if you have read my "Anyone Else in The Same Boat" you will know what I mean. The one thing I can share with you is the frustration that at nearly 200 viewings I have had so few comments/responses. I know everyone is ...

Re: First Anniversary

That is really excellent news GPC - I had a Keratotomy (spelling?) under a local anaesthetic & they drew on my eyeball with special pens and it was all fine. So anyone who is going to have it done - it's a doddle! Glad to see that your I Phone spell check plays havoc with what you type!!! I stil...

Re: Anyone else in the same boat?

Well I said I might use here as a bit of a diary thing and sorry but here goes. Following the brick wall experience of above eg "white sticks united"... I took the advice of my better other half (O/H). I went straight back to work the next day, saw various staff and with each told them abo...
