Re: Scleral wearers - Which saline do you use? - POLL

Few different ones the UV treated one first (kinda handy as small and has a cap you can put back on), Steripod which is ok but once the tops off is a pain to transport, Ocupure (green bottle?) is very ok but also gonna try the Tesco one since... it's in Tesco. How'd you find the suckers? Ever had su...

Re: driving and KC

I thought that at least for gaining a licence it had recently changed? That there is now some form of field of vision test? For example my right eye is useless so I think now I'd need to get tested fully for that. I don't drive and one of the excuses I use for not retrying my test is that using one ...

Re: Piggybacking - more advice

Hi Kieran, You'll be ok. The air optix are meant for sleeping in etc so pretty great at that. The hard obviously not but still. Anyways I used to switch the soft lens for a fresh wet one half way through the day just to help stop it drying out a bit. Generally is like a breath of fresh air. Hope it ...

Re: Is your KC mild, moderate advanced or severe?

Here are a few of my scans from a year or maybe two ago. The right looks fairly dramatic but I get around with my left pretty well (corrected it's near 20/20). Right: K-max 84.3D ( ), Thinnest Local 362um. Left: K-max 47.3D, Thinnest Local 451um. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y272/andytrail...

Re: Cross-linking Scotland

Hi Emma, There are potentially lots of options however your consultant would be best positioned to inform you of them. That said they do seem to have their prefered options so they she/he might not try "everything". CXL (basically) only seeks to stabilize not significantly improve vision (...

Re: Hi, New member, after a bit of advice!

Hi winko! On the soft lenses have you tried switching for another half way through the day to see if that helps? For dryness it can help a bit mainly because the "new" lens is wetter. Also you might want to discuss piggybacking (soft lens with a hard on top) with your consultant (though no...

Re: Crosslinking didn't stop my Keratoconus

Hi buzain, You say T-Cat so was that at Accuvision? I'm surprised, to an extent, that if you could get by without glasses or lenses they went down the T-Cat route. Did they scan you more than once? With for example a 6 month break between? It might be that you were very early stage and so being &quo...

Re: Piggybacking

Hi Grant, Glad you are enjoying them. :) I used piggybacking for quite awhile. For me it was much better than RGPs (was a wow moment) though the wear time was too short for going to work so I've had to change. As for removal you can (well I did...)just go straight to the (easier) soft method (move t...

NICE Guidance on CXL

I'm not sure if this has been put up anywhere else so thought I would put it up. It's the nearly finally final (latest) NICE guidance on CXL. (sorry for the formatting but can't upload a PDF, cut out the worst parts) FIPD for guidance publication, September 2013 Photochemical corneal collagen cross-...
