Re: keraflex
Time for another update. We tweaked the power of the semi-scleral lens and I got the replacement a few days ago. I also got a semi-scleral lens for the other eye. With the lens adjusted, the improvement is now very significant. Vision in the treated eye is now as good or better than the untreated ey...

Re: keraflex
Short correction: I am trying out semi-scleral lenses, not scleral lenses. They're larger than a normal lens but not quite as large as a scleral lens.

Re: keraflex
Just a short update after wearing the scleral lens for a few days: The improvement has become much more apparent now. My eyes don't feel so tired all the time, I used to always squint at everything but now I hardly ever do (and squinting doesn't do that much anymore as there's a lot less refraction ...

Re: keraflex
Hello again, time for an update. I never bothered with trying out an interim soft lens like I had intended, because as my optician is semi-retired and only works one day/week nowadays, and had to cancel two times in a row, I figured I might as well wait until it's time to fit a proper lens. I visite...

Re: keraflex
Yesterday I went down to Umeå to have a check-up with Professor Behndig and it was pretty encouraging. The cornea on the whole looked perfect in terms of healing and so forth. The astigmatism is nearly gone, it's down to about 0.6 - 1 diopter (he got a little bit different readings from different ma...

Re: keraflex
One week post-procedure. Had the first check-up with a specialist nurse at the local hospital today. The cornea has healed beautifully. I was told to continue with the antibiotic eye drops until Tuesday (4 more days) just in case. As expected it is way too early to see any results, so no news there....

Re: keraflex
Thank you for your reply. I had expected an answer along those lines, so I am not disappointed by it at all. I knew before getting the procedure done that there could be no guarantees, especially regarding long term effects. I can see how it appears that I am looking for assurance, but really it is ...

Re: keraflex
Hello again. It's been a few days now, and while it is still too early to talk about results, this is what my experience of the procedure and recovery has been so far. After a few tests and pictures taken I underwent the keraflex procedure at around 11.30 or something on Friday. As expected it took ...

Re: keraflex
a43 JUst to say I have seen your post and will answer soon.... However, I am at the GSLS (Global Specialty Lenses) conference in Las Vegas at the moment and am catching up in between lectures and so on. Just wanted to ask - have you tried soft lenses for keratoconus, like KeraSoft. These may certai...

Re: keraflex
Actually, I would like to rephrase my question for Lynn a bit. What I would like to know is not really an opinion on what results I personally can reasonably expect, but rather an explanation in layman's terms of what you have been able to observe so far in your dealing with post-KXL patients. I hav...
