Re: Synergeyes Clearkone stuck on eye
Hello: Synergeyes Clearkone is a nice design but not for everyone. If it does not work in your eyes, you´d better change to other lens modality as sclerals or soft as Kerasoft. By the way this paper may help you: Eye & Contact Lens: Science & Clinical Practice: November 2011 - Volume 37 - Is...

Re: `scleral lens.
In general: Swimming with contact on is not a good idea. You may have a nasty eye infection. Please use googles and after the activity remove and clean the lens. Try to avoid to open your eyes under the water. In particulaR: With sclerals the chance to loose your lens is lower than with other types ...

Re: crosslinking
I agree with Dr. Goren. Nevertheless in cases with vision close to 100% (6/6) I would recommend an epi-on cross-linking. Maybe less effective
than epi-off but also less risky.

Re: Kerasoft3 consistency
Hello: Kerasoft 3 has been upgraded into Kerasoft IC some years ago. This new design is much more consistent and provides better clinical outcome than the -3 old version. Nevertheless I would love to know why the contact lens clinic at Gartnavel Hospital insists so much in fitting you with RGP lense...

Re: What Does This mean?
Hi Tom: "Contact lens intolerant" is really a vague concept. There are a lot of different lenses besides rigid gas permeable . Have you tried soft contact lenses intended for keratoconus as Kerasoft or hybrid as Clearkone or sclerals? My experience with Kerasoft, an English soft contact le...

Re: Anyone got any positive stories about Intacs?
Hello In my opinion in order to be successful with Intacs it is very important to choose the right candidates. No everyone with keratoconus is a good candidate for this technique. This could be obvious in some countries but in some areas ICR procedures are very heavily recommended. For instance in s...

Re: vary scleral lenses
Hi TomV Yes it´s correct, scleral lenses get dirty and may also dry. I recommend taking the lens off at lunch time and re-clean them. There are also certain re-wetting drops from major contact lens solution manufacturers with added cleaning properties that can be used with soft and scleral lenses. A...

Re: vary scleral lenses
Hello My experience as an optometrist who fits a large number of keratoconus is: if you wear scleral lenses you dont need to switch to a different lens modality. As an average,in my practice, patients wear sclerals 14 hours per day. Obviously, this lens has to be manufactured in a high oxygen permea...
