Re: Corneal Graft Tomorrow....
Darren, I am more than happy with my progress so far. I got a plain lens for my glasses (for some reason they put a "balance lens" in) which has helped. Can;t see clearly out of it but the plain lens helps. :D Adam, I haven't had any problems but agree with Anne in that it's best to get yo...

Darren
Great news on the graft.
As with Rob I am past the 4 weeks stage now and, as with Rob, getting the drops in on time is the only problem I have.
All the best in your recovery

Re: Laptop or desktop when wearing specs?
Hi Eyepod Rather than buying a computer there is cheaper method you could go for. You could buy a large monitor, USB keyboard and mouse. These should all connect easily to your laptop effectively turning it into a desktop. And if you get yourself a decent computer desk and chair these would definite...

Re: My first week experience as a graftee
Chris & DJS Best of luck with your ops. Rob summed it all up with his post earlier. No pain, minor iritation and watery eyes. THe only major drawback for me was the tiredness the week after. I made the post originally in the hope of helping people who are going through the same experience and gi...

Re: Night driving problem
Hi Tom I can sympathise with your problem. I had problems with blurring lights and actually stopped driving early last year. I don't know about wearing contacts as I couldn't cope with them but am wondering whether you have tried scleral lenses which go over the whole front of the eye, resting on th...

Re: My son needs a corneal graft :-(
Optimist - I have just had a corneal transplant and believe it is the best thing to have done as I can see more now than I did originally. Even if it has to be redone in 15-20 years time the benefits will always outway the negatives. As for the laser surgery - I enquired about it and the laser centr...

Re: My first week experience as a graftee
Hi Rob
Have you tried the artificial tears? I got Celluvisc 0.5% when I went to the hospital.
Also bought a 3 month pre-paid prescription as I was told that my medication is prescribed by the doctor.
Take care and all the best for 2012.

Re: Had Graft today
Sorry about the delay Rob...I should have answered this ages ago.
I am on Pred Forte and was given Chloramphenicol cream as I had an abrasion on the cornea from the operation.

My first week experience as a graftee
Hi All This is just me telling anyone interested about my first week as a graftee or may be having one and don’t know what to expect. This is my experience and yours may differ in any of a thousand ways (doubt there are a thousand ways but you never know). Also it is one of THE best decisions I have...

Re: Day 3 feeling urgh.....
I asked for some dressings before I left the the hospital but wasn't told anything about how to clean my eye :( I was just given a bag with drops and cream. Then told I could leave. I was also told not to get normal tap water in my eye. I only knew about the boiled water because I Googled post graft...
