Keraring - How was it for you?

Hi,

In a few days time I'm due to have a Keraring inserted in my right eye.

I have a few questions about the operation and was wondering if there's anyone on this board who's recently gone through the process?

All the best,

Rich

Re: Kerasoft IC too fragile?

I could still wear the lens with chunks out of the side. Thanks for the good advice Gareth! I decided to go back and start wearing the original damaged lens. The vision is so good with the damaged lens, I thought 'hell, why not'. I'm only wearing it for 3-4 hours at a time, every couple of days and...

Re: Kerasoft IC too fragile?

Thanks for the tips Nick. The solution I'm using is AMO Oxysept 1 Step. I seem to remember that my Optom recommended this along with a Baush & Lomb Lens cleaner. Do you have a web link to the recommended solutions? The annoying thing is I've spent the last 6 months going back and forth to my Hos...

Kerasoft IC too fragile?

Has anyone else had problems with Kerasoft IC lenses getting damaged whilst removing them from their eyes? This morning I removed my lens from my left eye and noticed a large tear along the outer-edge. The sliver of lens has now dropped off making it unwearable. :( I'm following my opticians advice ...

Thank you for your detailed feedback. Very much appreciated, What has your optom recomended to you to address the dry eye issue? They've recommended a range of treatments. I've tried everything from baby shampoo and cotton buds to clean my tears ducts, through to viscotears etc. Ive also tried at wh...

Re: Bad headache day after wearing contacts

Thanks Gareth. My lenses do give me better vision than my glasses, it's just that due to dry eyes etc I find I can't wear the lenses for very long. I get by with glasses only because they correct my left, less KC affected eye very well. With the glasses on the left is clearly the dominate eye. Think...

Re: Bad headache day after wearing contacts

Hi Anne, Thanks for the reply. Yes. 99% of the time I get by wearing my glasses as these offer the best vision/comfort. I did think it could be my brain adjusting. Due to issues finding a suitable lens correction for my left eye, I can only use them for general stuff like sport, walking etc so I nev...

Bad headache day after wearing contacts

For the last few months I've been getting really bad headaches the day after wearing my contacts. The headache comes on a few hours after taking my contacts out. Or more commonly, I'll wake up the next day with the headache. The pain is a dull, constant ache in the frontal-lobe (I think thats the te...

Re: KC soft contacts success :D (impossible is nothing !!)

Thanks Lynn. I'll mention this to them during my next visit. Annoyingly I'm off back to try a hard lens in the right as a replacement to my current Kerasoft2 so hopefully they won't mind me asking about trying the Kerasoft 3's. The most I've had the lenses in before going back in for the refraction ...
