Re: Cross-linking Scotland

Hi there

Coincidentally, I'm a graphic designer from Scotland.

I'll avoid going into my long-winded history, but can tell you that Edinburgh Eye Pavilion does cross-linking (I was told that in January by a specialist there).

Best wishes.

Caroline.

Re: Prescription changes after cross-linking

Hi. I had CXL in both eyes (2.5 years ago) - one good eye and one bad eye (had wedge resection) in that eye. My bad eye has deteriorated and is becoming thinner and thinner, which wasn't the plan. Thinking back each eye was CXL by different surgeons and I wonder if the worst eye wasn't done properly...

Re: Crosslinking didn't stop my Keratoconus

Hmmmm, I researched having CXL, thought very carefully about it, got it done in both eyes. I have one stable eye, but the other continues to deteriorate - thickness is now 377. Apparently intact is a no-no and the odds aren't great for a graft now. Heard lots of positive things about CXL, but intere...

Re: Crosslinking didn't stop my Keratoconus

Hi. I has CXL in both eyes 2 years ago. Although my left eye is stable, my right eye is not and it is deteriorating fairly rapidly (bulging and is now very thin).

Re: To cross-link or not to cross-link, that is the question

Hi Not two patients are the same. I think the success of the procedure depends upon a number of factors e.g. meeting the suitability criteria and the expertise of the surgeon carrying out the procedure. i've had CXL is both eyes. My left eye has been stable for over a year, but unfortunately my righ...

Re: Incidence of KC in families

Hi there

My twin sister was diagnosed with KC at around 19 (now 39). Her vision deteriorated and she's had transplants/grafts in both eyes. I too have KC. My niece has had her eyes tested and we're still waiting to hear if she has KC.

Best wishes

Caroline

CXL - issues 1.5 years on

Had cross linking in both eyes and wedge resection in right eye. 1.5 years on knew vision in right eye wasn't right. Local optician thought eyes still weren't working together. Surgeon reports that a area of cornea is thinning and starting to bulge again. Don't understand how this could happen after...

Re: Centre for Sight

Hi Yes, I've had treatment at the Centre for Sight from Dr Sheraz Daya. If I'm being honest, I trust Dr Daya and have complete faith in his ability as an expert in his field (top of his field!), however, I felt that I was given unrealistic expectations in terms of recovery time, etc. My background i...

Re: Post Cross linking help

Hi Just out of interest, did you have epi on or off? I have crosslinking (epi was disrupted rather than removed) done almost a year ago in both eyes (month apart). In my case, I think it took months for things to settle. I would speak to the clinic and see what they have to say. If you're unhappy wi...
