Ulcer on eye

Well apparently I have an ulcer or an abrasion on my bad eye I found out this morning. Things had been going well with the Clearkone lens I have been trying, it's fits great and is comfortable (albeit the prescription is poor with only very minimal improvement in my eyesight). I went for a routine f...

Re: Trying ClearKone Lenses Now

Andrew, your reply made me laugh. Not laugh at you but the realisation that you make so much sense! I've been so concerned with just trying to get a contact lens to fit comfortably and give me my 20/20 vision vision back that I forgot that I'm getting a little older (32 now oooft! Lol) I will see ho...

Trying ClearKone Lenses Now

Hi all, well after trying two different types of lens of the past 3 months I am now going on to my third type and I hope i'll be third time lucky. I've had the hard RGP lens, then came the Piggy-Back with a soft lens under the RGP and after having a rough time with both of those my Optometrist has n...

Re: RGP QUESTIONS

Kirst, I'm from Ayr and some of the things you said in your post above rang true with me too. Been trying to get used to RGP lenses for 5 weeks now and not doing too well. I've also found the Optometrist not particularly helpful with the condition and trying to support me, giving me the impression t...

Re: First Consultation Today

I am in the West Coast of Scotland and the Consultant I saw yesterday at the NHS hospital was Mr Srinivasan who said I should definately consider CXL and that he did it privately himself, he gave me a leaflet and and his secretarys phone number...

First Consultation Today

Today I had my first proper consultation with the specialist and a corneal map done. This was further to my hospital visit 6 weeks ago where they were almost certain I had Keratonconus in my right eye. Well today it's confirmed I have it quite established in my right eye and signs of it just startin...

Re: First eye clinic appointment

Thanks for the info Melissa it's put my mind at ease. And Anne I figured it would be in the months rather than weeks to get this sorted. What a shame :-/

So today was my outpatient appointment at Crosshouse Hospital. Supposed to see a Mr Srinivasan but saw another man from his team, ran some tests, took pressure and sizes from my eyes! He said fairly sure I have keratoconus but I need to have a corneal map!? done to confirm. The appointment for that ...
