Re: RGP discomfort
Dry spots from what I can remember is caused by the eye lid missing the surface of the eye due to the contact lens, 3 and 9 oclock are the common places. Your tears have to be able to run into the dry areas, mine didn't, the optom described them reacting like water on a hot frying pan. If prolonged ...

Re: RGP discomfort
I havn't really suffered from this but last year I had dry spots on my left eye, it was a bit like some one squeezing the surface with tweezers, ouch. Its quite common according to optom. The problem was my tears were not very good, the advice was no caffiene and to drink plenty of water which did t...

Re: How do you maintain your RGP contact lens?
Hello Well I have had a bit of a kick up the bum, I was told off last visit for having dirty lenses, I know I was getting lazy at cleaning them so I have now gone the other way. Every night the lenses get a good minute or two each doing the rub in the palm of the hand. If Im too tired then last opti...

Re: Desperate for advice. Please help.
Maybe a new prescription? l'm an absolute pain at the hospital, in my mind with all the attention I receive I expect rightly or wrongly bloody good vision. I do get the impression that the optoms that treat me have a limited amount of knowledge, as I said when the department head saw me she said pri...

Re: Declaring keratoconus to the DVLA
I have had a lesser sort of experiance, headlights looked a little like the Star of Bethlehem, but it didnt effect my driving, maybe you should look at the fit of the lenses. Im on holiday at the moment on a caravan site in Cornwall, I was wandering about last night looking at the lights in the elec...

Re: Declaring keratoconus to the DVLA
Ive been reading the forum and scratching my head. Many many years ago at night the light from the lamp posts were all joined together by a light string. I thought that my rgp prescrition must be wrong, so I complained at my next eye exam and we went through loads and loads of test lenses, I can sti...

Re: Desperate for advice. Please help.
My right eye is my worst eye, I suffered from ghosting quite a bit, I regularly complained at every eye exam at the hospital that I attend. One such time I met the head honcho, cant remember her title but anyway she recommended a prism lens, this improved the ghosting and overall vision no end. The ...
