Re: Options?
Hi all, @liam82 glad to hear your success on the procedure. I am also considering getting PRK done on my left eye at Moorfields. It currently has a thickness of around 470um with my K values being around 45 - 47 dioptres. I was told during an eye test at Moorfields by the (person carrying out the t...

Re: Has anyone had keratoconus progress in one eye after the age of 30?
I developed KC in my left eye in 2011, when I was around 28. And it didn't develop in my right eye until 2014, where I was in my early 30's. It progressed very slightly this year and I am now 37.

Re: Options?
Hello! Sorry, it's taken me so long to do an update but it's been a mad few weeks. I work in the NHS and have only gone back in this week and it's like walking into a hurricane. On the 6th of October, I had a PRK on my left eye and PRK plus CXL on my right eye. The aim wasn't to improve focusing in ...

Re: Options?
If you're seeing the main guy at your opticians then he used to reply to people's questions on this forum when the forum was quite new so I'm not surprised you're so happy with him. I hope you don't have to wait too long for the lenses. And that your migraine aura can be treated successfully. I can...

Re: Options?
Fingers crossed for your contact lens fitting! Let us know how it goes. As for epi on CXL, although there has been at least one clinical trial in the UK comparing epi on and epi off, I don't know of anywhere currently offering epi on. If you do end up going to your private Moorfields appointment, y...

Re: Flickering when reading text (most likely just visual snow)
Does anyone constnatly get flickering whenever they are reading? For example, on a white letter with black text, on the white parts and especailly between the words there will be a noticably large amount of flickering. It's very irritating and makes reading more difficult. I think it's most likely ...

Re: Options?
Hi Liam, It's good that you have a consultation lined up at Moorfields and I hope you don't have to wait too long for it, though I guess they're going to have quite a backlog to catch up with. The criteria for an implantable lens won't be the same as for PRK so don't assume it's a no. And do ask ab...

Re: Options?
Hi Liam, Just a few thoughts - were scleral lenses ever tried for you? They're the big ones that don't actually touch the cornea because they sit on the white of the eye. Not all hospital contact lens departments have them so if you haven't tried them, you might need to get a referral to a differen...

Hello there! Yikes, it's been over 9 here since I joined here - but I haven't posted in years! I am really just looking for some advice, or any crazy ideas. So, around 9 years ago I had crosslinking done in my left eye under the impressionthat it would stop the progression of Keratoconus, make it po...

Re: Left eye sight now good... but with terrible double vision
I had the same thing. I had Cross Linking a few years back and now I suffer from uncomfortable double vision. I can't get a contact lens that corrects it either, as every time I try one my eye refocuses making everything even worse
