KC conference proceedings and DVDs

 

We hold a conference every other year in various parts of the UK. These include talks from professional guest speakers and from members who would like to share their stories.

Everyone who attends has a chance to chat to others with keratoconus.

 

The 2001 conference 'Developing the Vision' includes:-

  • A talk by Professor Roger Buckley on 'Alternatives to surgery' (Note - This is before the introduction of C3R/CXL and intacs)
  • A talk by Ken Pullum on 'Application of corneal and scleral lenses'
  • A talk by Dr Valerie Smith on 'Researching keratoconus'
  • A talk by Gill Levy on 'Learning difficulties and keratoconus'
  • Plus talks from our members

A booklet of this conference is available.


The 2003 conference 'Coping with Keratoconus' includes:-

  • Talks from 'Look' and 'Action for Blind People' on how they can help with education and work
  • Plus talks from our members on how they coped with studying and work

A booklet of this conference is available.


The 2005 conference 'Focus on the Need' includes:-

  • A talk by Mr John Dart, consultant at Moorfields on partial (DALK) and full thickness (PK) grafts
  • A talk by Dr Kanna Ramaesh, consultant at Gartnavel, Glasgow on ocular surface disease
  • A talk by Ken Pullum, senior optometrist at Moorfields on keratoconus management
  • Plus talks from our members

The 2007 conference 'Keratoconus - What's new?' includes:-

  • A talk by Mr Sheraz Daya, consultant at Queen Victoria Hospital, East Grinstead, on crosslinking, intacs and new developments in transplant surgery
  • A talk by Dan Ehrlich, Head of Optometry at Moorfields on the various contact lenses used for keratoconus
  • Plus talks from our members of their experiences with intacs

A DVD or printed version of this conference is available.


We are working on the DVD for the 2009 conference 'Keratoconus and You' and hope to have this available soon.
