First of all, many thanks to the 27 people that came to the 10th August meeting, a very good turn out for the holiday period. It was also good to see several new faces and, judging by the discussions that went on after the meeting, it was a very useful event.
Our third and final meeting of 2019 will be on Saturday 12th October, same time and place, when Ash Winter will tell his KC story in more detail (and have his book available to purchase); we've heard that he is planning to climb a mountain in Africa next year so hope to hear more about that.
Dates for 2020 have now been fixed at John Lewis's with the first being Saturday 25th April when Professor Martin Rubinstein will give his postponed talk about contact lenses. Those of you at last year’s conference may remember that Professor Rubinstein was in the audience with two of the Conference speakers paying tribute to him so this should be a very good session. The other 2 dates are Saturdays 25th July and 12th September.
Please note also that the biennial National Conference is in London on Saturday 6th June 2020 at a venue close to Euston Station so not too difficult to get to by train from the West Midlands - more details to follow.
