I had my right eye grafted in December. My sight is still pretty poor due to a large astigmatism on my "graft" eye. The opthalmologist is going to start taking out stitches next month (first two will be removed on April 22).
At what point will I be able to wear a lens in my graft eye? Will I have to wait until all the stitches are out or will they be able to fit a lens much sooner?

I think that a lens could be fitted fairly early on, but that sounds unlikely.
My understanding is that on each stitch removal, your corneal shape could alter, and so that could make the fitting of contact lenses rather expensive.
My guess is that you're best to wait until all the stitches are removed.

Dear John
I think I was afraid that would be the answer. Oh well!
Great new format.
