Pauline, Gareth and fellow Darlo people!

Do you think KC was caused by something in the air in the area?

well, I am VERY surprised that the DMH have a contact lens clinic, and I was shipped out to the high street striaght away 2 years ago when diagonised. In fact, Graham West the head of the opathmology dept (think he is a NHS manager and not medically trained) after a certain amount of persuassion gave me a cheque to pay for my contact lenses from D&A on high row!! They guy there is great he used to work at Newcastle RVI eye clinic and seems to know the score with KC.

Anyway, like I say at Sunderland now and for me I think its worth the travel, the equipment they have up there is far better equipped then DMH, I never had any tests at DMH except a look in my eyes. Sunderland did a full topography, field analysis tests, and various ERG scans within the first few visits!

I know Mr Singh was well respected, my girlfriends dad knows him through the Darlington Rotary club and he has in the past offered to take a peak at my eyes, but the man desevres a rest after all them years of hard work!

Gareth, I wenn to qe a while after you, 1997-1999! So maybe no staff are the same!

Yeah I love life up here and have tryed all the big smoke stuff when I worked for M&S and its not for me! My girlfriend wants to move to Leeds or Manchester as she is a city dweller and I am resisting but think will have to go eventually! Where abouts did you live Gareth? I live near what was the White Horse hotel over Harrogate Hill.

Whats on at the Croft circuit? My friends grandad is the head groundsman there (think he basically controls the livestock that can 'get in the way' of cars)! and he can sometimes bag a few freebies?

Off to look up the KC figures for the Darlington area...or Teesvalley as we are now known!

Dave.

Just had a look at the QE web site, ouside looks the same, but the picture of the corridor where I had lessons is now carpeted! Wooden floors when I was there! The common room was a bit better, no saw dust on the floor, but plush linolium tiles. The tiles might still be there as I could not find any pictures of that area! As for the staff, if they had amny more years of students like me, they will all of taken early retierment by now.

My original optician is still going; Clifford T Rees Opticians, 35 High Street, Yarm.

The event I hope to attend at Croft Curcuit is the Derby/Durham local group (part of the National RS Owners Club http://www.rsownersclub.co.uk) regional day on Sunday 3rd July. It is a track day and car show with lots of Ford RS Cars, mainly Escorts, but if I make it, there will be one of the rarest of all Ford RS cars, my Capri RS3100, there are only about 35 left running, the rest of the 200 sold are either being restored or in car heaven! I will be on the concours display competing and if I have the money, I will go on track once I have been judged! I call this show 'n' thrash!

Regards

Gareth
